Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Unitic (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit unitic.co, contact us, or otherwise interact with our website and related offerings. We keep what we collect to a minimum and never sell your data.

Scope

This policy applies to personal data we process as a controller in the course of running our business — including through the Unitic website at unitic.co, our contact and recruitment channels, and related online and offline offerings (together, the “Services”).

It does not apply to third-party websites, products or services we do not control, even where we link to them. Their own policies govern your use of them.

Work We Do for Clients

Unitic is a creative technology studio that designs and engineers real-time, interactive digital experiences. When we build an experience for a client, any personal data of that client’s end users is processed on the client’s behalf and under our agreement with them. In those cases the client is the controller and their own privacy policy governs that data; this policy covers only the data we handle as a controller for our own purposes.

Information You Provide to Us

Contact details: when you use our contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to provide — your full name, email address, phone number, company name, website and the contents of your message.

Newsletter: if you sign up for updates, we collect your email address and your consent to receive them.

Recruitment: if you apply for a role or send us your details, we collect the information in your application — such as your CV, contact details, work history and anything else you choose to share.

Business and event interactions: when you meet us at an event or discuss a potential project, we may keep the contact details and notes needed to follow up.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the site we may automatically collect limited technical data about your device and browsing, such as your browser type and settings, device and operating system, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, referring pages, and how you interact with the site (pages viewed, links clicked, time and frequency of use).

We use this mainly in aggregate to keep the site working, secure and reliable, and to understand and improve how it is used.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and, where used, pixels) that are necessary for the site to function and, where enabled, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. Cookies are small files stored by your browser; analytics help us see how the site performs.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you disable certain cookies.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive limited information about you from other sources, such as our service providers, analytics tools, or publicly available professional profiles, and combine it with the information described above to operate and improve our Services.

How We Use Your Information

To respond to your enquiries, communicate with you, and discuss and carry out potential projects.

To operate, maintain, secure and improve the website and our Services, and to debug and resolve issues.

To send newsletters and updates where you have asked to receive them.

To assess and manage job applications and our recruitment process.

To protect against fraud, abuse and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations.

We may also create de-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you and use it for any purpose. We do not use your data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for example, newsletters); the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (for example, responding to an enquiry); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving our Services, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations.

As we operate in Turkey, Turkish data protection law (KVKK) also applies; see the KVKK Disclosure Notice for the legal bases under the KVKK.

Marketing Communications

If you have opted in, we may send you newsletters or updates about our work. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us. You will still receive necessary service-related messages, such as replies to your enquiries.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only as described here: with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf to help us run the site and our communications (for example hosting, form handling, email and analytics), and only to the extent needed to provide those services;

with our affiliates for the business purposes described in this policy; where required to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety and property of Unitic, our users or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, in which case we will continue to protect your data as described here.

Service providers are bound by contracts that require them to safeguard your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

International Transfers

We are based in Turkey and may process data using service providers located in other countries, including outside Turkey and the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps — such as relying on appropriate safeguards like standard contractual clauses — to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable law.

Data Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, to manage your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe, or to run a recruitment process — and then delete or anonymise it, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law (for example, to establish or defend legal claims).

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data and obtain a copy; to correct inaccurate or incomplete data; to delete it; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

For your rights under the KVKK (Article 11), see the KVKK Disclosure Notice.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu).

Your Choices

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time, control cookies through your browser, and choose what to share when you contact us. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal; because there is no common standard for it, our site does not currently respond to it differently.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. No method of transmission over the internet or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your data, we will act in accordance with applicable law.

Third-Party Websites

Our site may link to other websites or services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Children’s Privacy

Our site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it, unless we are legally required to keep it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the date at the top of this page and, where required by law, notify you. We recommend reviewing this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.

Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, or if you wish to exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
